Bravo Charlie Tango (BCT) is a group of dedicated volunteer Irish motorcyclists who are delivering emergency medical supplies to Hospitals/Medical Centres/Care Homes around Ireland to assist frontline medics in fighting COVID-19.
As a partner of TeamOSV, Bravo Charlie Tango have joined forces with Covid Community Response to allow the public to donate PPE to Irish healthcare institutions in need, through an online matching and motorbike delivery service. Through the goodwill of the BravoCharlieTango riders, this service has allowed the team to safely collect and deliver many donations of PPE, 3D printing materials, manufactured face shields and other items from door-to-door.
Merv Colton, started work on producing face shields two weeks ago when the crisis escalated. Simultaneously, he then spotted an urgent appeal for PPE for James’ hospital and began collecting and delivering donations of PPE supplies, with the help of his motorbike network. So far, hundreds of batches of PPE have been donated to hospital frontline staff and other healthcare locations and over 1500 face shields have been produced and delivered.
“We started out with the logic that many shut businesses may have surplus supplies that could help our frontline staff... creches, dentists, beauticians, hairdressers, tattoo parlours, all of those may have a couple of packets of medical grade gloves and or masks sitting on the shelf. Over the last week, the community and voluntary support within this initiative has been unbelievable - in terms of those willing to donate goods, deliver the materials, and spread the word”
By partnering with Covid Community Response BCT hope to further increase the number of donations they can receive, and deliver to a wider range of facilities including care centres.
